RestOfStory: The man crouched in the tree, not making a sound, barely daring to breathe. He strained to hear the voices and see the speakers, but they were hidden to him.

"Orion!" a raspy voice called. The man did not move.

"Orion, do not be afraid, we do not wish to harm you," a sweet voice said soothingly.

The man called Orion saw two creatures appear out of the bushes. He regonized one as a wood nymph, nasty little things, and the other as a woodland fairy, charming, beautiful creatures. Why they would be working together, he did not know. All he knew is, they wanted something from him. Something he was sure he did not have.

"Orion, come out of that tree!" ordered the nymph in his harsh Irish accent. Again, the man did not budge.

"Orion, please!" pleaded the fairy, in her sweet Engilsh accent. "We do not wish to harm you, only to help to fulfill your destiny."

Curiosity gripped the man called Orion. "What is my destiny?" he asked, ignoring the voices in his head that screamed for him to be quiet.

"To be as great as the stars." the fairy whispered.

"Come down," said the nymph, "and we will show you."

Against his better, judgement, Orion jupmed from his position high in the tree, landing skillfully on his feet. He stood tall. His fair skin was tanned with years of wandering the distance of the world. His blue eyes sparkled with curiousity and lust for knowledge. His black hair was just above his shoulders and had a messy wave to it that made him look quite handsome.

"Fool!" spat the nymph, as Orion was ambushed by the other creatures of the forest.

Orion drew his sword and fought valiantly. The fairy blew powerful spells at him, that made his knees buckle in weakness. He fell to the ground, breathing hard. The nymph approached him.

"Orion, you are too curious for your own good. Where are the stones?"

"The stones?" Orion echoed. His face showed confusion, but he knew very well what the nymph was talking about. The four stones of power could render their holder more powerful than Merlin himself.

"I know that you have in your possesion three of the four stones." the nymph told him, drawing his sword. To Orion the nymph's sowrd was not but a dagger. Dagger, though it was, its point was sharp enough to slice the man's thoat.

"You grow too greedy, nymph." the fairy warned.

"Give me the stones!" the nymph commanded.

"I know not what you are talking about!" Orion cried. The nymph said three words Orion did not understand. Emidiatly, Orion felt unbearable pain rushing through his body. He clenched his teeth.

"Eventually you will tell me!" the nymph exclaimed.

"Nymph!" shouted the fairy. "You are not to take those stones from him! They are to be returned to their hiding places!"

"Why should I give them up?" asked the nymph fiercly, "They will be mine!" he pressed his dagger to Orion's throat, drawing blood.

Seeing that the mighty Orion would soon be slain, the fairy uttered the words that would keep him afe from the hands of the nymph. Orion flew to the sky, becoming one with it. Upon Orion's belt were the three stones, Altinak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. The fairy knew that Orion and his stones would be safe among the stars, where no one would ever reach them.

RestOfStory: Her steps were uncertain. The dog bite had become infected, and the pain was much more than her delicate body could withstand. She hobbled across the rotting wood floor, carefully watching her steps as there were many places termites had destroyed. A few unsteady steps later, she found herself taking a seat on the toilet in the dingy bathroom. The lighting was low, but enough to make out just how bad the wound had become. The putrid odor reeked of death, and the bubbling puss ran down her shaky leg. Her stomach rumbled, warning her that she couldn't endure much more without stomach acid rushing to her mouth. She reached toward the faucet in hopes of cleaning herself up a bit, but was disappointed to find the water unsanitary. She decided to ignore the injury for another day, though she knew better. Sleep overcame her, and she passed out on the dirty bathroom floor, too tired to make it elsewhere, and while she slept, the infectious disease took her from the pain and to a
place beyond imagination.

Officials found her decaying body days later.

RestOfStory: The inevitability of the situation was nearly unbearable, but the scenery faded with each second that passed. The sour taste of vomit lingered on the tip of her tongue, and their final goodbyes echoed in her mind. The future was merely a concept for her entire high school career.. It was a thought, most often pushed aside by things she felt were more important at the time. Now, all to suddenly, as though some major natural disaster shook up the entire world, the future was a life she held in her hands, every moment now and forever was her sculpture to be perfected.

And looking back on it all, she wouldn't change a thing. To feel that amazing gaze of adoration from those who parented her for 18 long years of her life was more than rewarding. Maybe what lies ahead will not be so fearful, but even if it is, she knows she has the strength to overcome it.
